Unistrut P2072 Cross Reference: B-Line B279, Superstrut AP-231, Power-Strut PS 3013
Unistrut P2072 cross-references to B-Line B279, Superstrut AP-231, Power-Strut PS 3013 and Haydon B-619. The cited guides list these numbers together as candidate substitutes. That carries no load rating, listing or steel grade: each manufacturer publishes those separately, and they do not travel with a part number.

What a published cross-reference number does and does not cover
A published cross-reference number is one thing only: a number a cited document prints opposite this one, as a candidate substitute in the same catalog slot. We have not independently verified any competitor part's dimensions or interchangeability.
It does not carry design loads, safety factors, steel grade, coating thickness or third-party listings — UL, cUL, FM, seismic. Each manufacturer publishes those independently, and two parts that measure identically can carry different published loads. Finish suffixes differ by brand as well, so order the base number and state the coating in words.
Where a specification names a brand, a substitute is a submittal question, not a purchasing one: send it through as an or equal with the substitute's own load and listing data, and get it accepted in writing before it ships.
Unistrut P2072 — published cross-reference part numbers
P2072 is a 6 x 6 in. base plate with a single-channel socket, for anchoring a post — Post base, 6 x 6 in. base plate (152.4 sq). Every value below is copied out of a published cross-reference document; the tag in the source column names it, and the Sources list gives the title, URL and access date.
| Brand | Published cross-reference part number | Source |
|---|---|---|
| B-Line | B279 | [S1], [S3], [S4] |
| Superstrut | AP-231 | [S1], [S3] |
| Power-Strut | PS 3013 | [S1], [S3] |
| Haydon | B-619 | [S3] |
Row note: S1 prints AP231 / PS3013 without spaces; same part.
No competitor dimensions are published on this page. We hold verified dimensional data for the Unistrut part only, so this table carries part numbers and their sources and stops there.
What to check on a substitute
A cross-reference table gets you a part number. It does not tell you whether the thing in the box lines up with the holes you already have. These are the numbers that decide that for P2072 — 4 checks, each with the Unistrut figure and the catalog page it is printed on. Work through them before the run goes up.
| Measure | Unistrut value | Why | Where the number comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base plate | 6 x 6 in. (152.4 x 152.4 mm) | Square plate, dimensioned on the drawing itself. | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
| Anchor holes | 4 holes, 3/4 in. (19.1 mm) diameter | The drawing prints this verbatim as “4 Holes 3/4 in. (19.1) Dia.” — it overrides the 9/16 in. standard note in the page header. A post base is the part where the page-header standard does not apply. Settle this one before you order, not on the receiving dock: ask the supplier for the drawing of the part they will actually ship and check it against the slab. | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
| Anchor hole positions | see the dimensioned plan view, Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17 p. 113 | The drawing carries 3 in. (76.2 mm) and 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) dimensions on the anchor pattern, but the catalog does not fix which centers and which edges each one runs between, so we do not restate it here as a measurement — read it off the plan view. This is the pattern that has to match the anchor bolts already in the slab, so request the supplier's drawing and confirm it before you place the order. | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
| Material thickness | 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) | Dimensioned on the P2072 drawing itself, not taken from the page header note. | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
These are the Unistrut figures, published here so you have something to measure against. They are not a claim about any other manufacturer's part.
What we can quote against this part number
We do not manufacture these parts and we are not Unistrut. We source them. The item we can quote against Unistrut P2072 is Post base, 6 x 6 in. base plate (152.4 sq) — a candidate substitute made to order by a contract manufacturer, offered for inquiry, not an original-manufacturer part.
| Dimension | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Base plate | 6 x 6 in. (152.4 mm square) | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
| Socket | 1-5/8 in. (41.3 mm) — single channel | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
| Anchor holes | 4 x 3/4 in. (19.1 mm) | Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 113 — printed on the part drawing |
| Thickness | About 0.23 in. (5.8 mm) base steel before coating; a hot-dip galvanized part measures thicker. Steel grade confirmed at quotation. | Our supply specification — not a catalog figure |
These are the published Unistrut catalog dimensions we build to, each with the page it is printed on. The thickness row is the exception: it states what we supply, not a catalog figure. They are geometry only. No load, torque or listing figure is claimed for our part: none has been tested on it, and a figure published for a Unistrut part is evidence about that part, not about ours.
Every published dimension with the catalog page it is printed on, the finishes, and what to measure on a delivery: P2072 part page.
