90° angle fitting · 1-5/8 in. series
P1068 — 2-Hole 90° Angle Fitting, 1-5/8 × 2-1/4 in.
A single steel plate bent once through 90° with unequal legs of 1-5/8 in. and 2-1/4 in., one 9/16 in. bolt hole in each. It joins two 1-5/8 in. channels at a right angle with one bolt and one channel nut per leg.

Dimensions above are the catalog specification for the reference part; the steel line is our supply. Steel grade is confirmed at quotation.
P1068-EG — electro-galvanized, zinc plating to ASTM B633 Type III SC1. Smooth bright silver. Indoor and dry service. P1068-HG — hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A123 or A153. Visible spangle, heavier edge build-up. Outdoor, wet and coastal service. P1068-PL — plain, uncoated steel. For painting or powder coating after assembly, or dry enclosed runs. Stainless — the catalog offers stainless, aluminum and fiberglass on some part numbers but publishes no standard suffix for them and says to consult the factory. Quote as made-to-order. Powder-coated — powder coating to a customer-specified RAL color. Not a catalog finish, so it carries no catalog code — the color, which parts take it and the film build are confirmed at quotation. We publish no film thickness and no salt-spray figure, because we have not measured one.
Finish list: Unistrut® General Engineering Catalog no. 17, p. 85 — finishes note. Powder coating is our option, not a catalog finish. The catalog also lists GR against this series — not quoted, see Finishes.
Pack: Packed per order. One cap screw and one channel nut per leg, ordered separately.

The rest of the two-hole 90 degree group
Every two-hole 90° angle on catalog p. 94 is the same bent plate with one hole per leg, and they differ almost entirely in leg length. P1068 is the one with the long leg on the short side of the pair: 1-5/8 in. against 2-1/4 in., the reverse proportion of P1026.

What bolts through it, and where the published data stops.
Hardware. One 1/2 x 15/16 in. hex head cap screw and one 1/2 in. channel nut per leg — P1010, P4010 or P5510 depending on the channel series. Two of each per fitting, ordered separately.
Twist. One hole per leg means one bolt per leg, and a single bolt lets the joint rotate about it if the corner is pushed sideways. Stiffening a corner is a design decision for your engineer. Catalog p. 94 carries no four-hole version of this bent angle: every 1-5/8 in. series 90° angle on that page has one hole per leg.
Load rating. The catalog publishes no load figure for P1068, so neither do we. Where the catalog does give design load data for a fitting, it states that the data is based on the ultimate strength of the connection with a safety factor of 2.5; no such figure appears on p. 94 for this part. Do not infer one from the steel thickness or from a neighbouring part number.

| Brand | Published cross-reference part number |

| B-Line | B101 [S1][S2][S3][S4] |
| Superstrut | AB201 [S1][S3] |

| Haydon | A-301 [S3] |
Row note: S4 also prints Kindorf B-915 opposite B-Line B101.
A published cross-reference number is one thing only: a number a cited document prints opposite this one, as a candidate substitute in the same catalog slot. It carries no load rating, steel grade, coating thickness or third-party listing — each manufacturer publishes those separately and they do not travel with a part number. What a P1068 actually is
P1068 is a two-hole 90° angle with unequal legs, and it is the part people reach for when the usual bracket is a quarter-inch short of clearing something. One piece of steel plate, one bend, one bolt hole in each leg. Both legs are 1-5/8 in. wide, the same width as the channel face, so the fitting never overhangs the run.
The legs are 1-5/8 in. and 2-1/4 in. That is worth stating plainly because it is the reverse of the arrangement most buyers have in their head from P1026, which is 2 in. against 1-7/8 in. P1068 is short on one side and distinctly long on the other, so only a rule separates them.
Choosing between P1068 and the angles next to it
Inside the two-hole 90° family the part numbers differ mainly by leg length. Order the shortest leg that reaches, because a longer leg buys reach and not strength: the bolt still lands in the same channel slot and the joint is still a single bolt per leg. What a long leg does buy is clearance — past a flange, around a duct, over a weld — and a little more plate to work with if a second hole gets drilled on site.
If the corner has to resist twisting rather than just locate two channels, leg length is the wrong dial entirely. Pair two angles on opposite faces of the channel, or add a brace. And if the part in your hand has a welded upright rather than a bent one, it is a wing fitting and not an angle at all.
Checking an incoming shipment
Four measurements catch nearly everything that goes wrong on an unfamiliar supplier's first run.
1. Count the holes: two, one in each leg. This sounds trivial and it is the most common mismatch, because “90 degree angle bracket” covers half a dozen part numbers and suppliers substitute freely between them.
2. Measure both legs: 1-5/8 in. and 2-1/4 in. Measure over the corner, not into it — the leg dimension runs from the free end of one leg to the outside face of the other. This is the check that separates P1068 from P1026 in a bin.
3. Measure hole center to the free end of each leg: 13/16 in. (20.6 mm). A steel rule against the edge of the hole is enough; a caliper is better. This is the number that decides whether the fitting lines up with a channel nut in the slot. If it is materially off, the punch pattern is not the 1-5/8 in. series pattern and the joint will not sit flat.
4. Caliper the plate thickness away from the bend and compare it with the base-steel thickness on your quotation. Thin stock is the quiet substitution — a fitting rolled from 3/16 in. plate photographs identically. Our standard plate is about 0.23 in. (5.8 mm) base steel before coating; a hot-dip galvanized part measures thicker. The catalog reference part is 1/4 in. (6.4 mm). Compare the base-steel thickness on your quotation; measure a galvanized part knowing the coating adds to it. A 3/16 in. (4.8 mm) plate looks the same in a bin — that is the one to reject.
If it still looks right, check the finish: electro-galvanized is smooth and bright silver with no pattern, hot-dip galvanized carries a visible spangle and a heavier, uneven build-up at the edges and inside the holes. A box marked HG holding smooth bright parts is mislabelled, and outdoors that is the difference that matters.

What we can quote against this part number
We do not manufacture these parts and we are not Unistrut. We source them. The item we can quote against Unistrut P1068 is 90 degree angle fitting, 1-5/8 x 2-1/4 in., 2 holes — a candidate substitute made to order by a contract manufacturer, offered for inquiry, not an original-manufacturer part.

These are the published Unistrut catalog dimensions we build to, each with the page it is printed on. The thickness row is the exception: it states what we supply, not a catalog figure. They are geometry only. No load, torque or listing figure is claimed for our part: none has been tested on it, and a figure published for a Unistrut part is evidence about that part, not about ours.
